Visually, stars can be categorised into 3 groups:

Open Clusters like M45, The Pleiades also know in New Zealand as Matariki.

Globular Clusters like Omega Centauri and M13

Binary Stars like Alpha Centauri and Sco Scorpius and such like.
These are some of the most interesting and stunning sights through a telescope.
